The first sets of eyes witnessed the new Cruisers Yachts 42 GLS at October's Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show, and now eager buyers have their chance to take own one. The 42 GLS has the potential, to put it as objectively, to become an industry reference point for the potential of a livable cruising yacht. A bevy of high-quality features from bow to stern compliment a well-designed hull with big water capability alongside recreational cruising comfort.
The cockpit features a U-shaped dinette facing the galley, a raised wet bar with stools for group entertainment, and a covered hydraulic sunroof that comes standard. The bow lounge boasts a multi-faceted table that converts into a sunpad, and aft are dual “beach doors” that lower to expand the swim platform. The beach doors are large sections of the hull sides that fold down, allowing users to open the entire back half of the boat as a single-level entertainment area. There are also two swivel bar stools and an aft-facing bench, which can also swivel to face the interior. Other amenities include a fridge, bottle storage, afibreglass inlay sink, an optional grill, and an optional flat screen TV.
The helm is intuitively laid out with Simrad electronics, dual screens, and joystick piloting. A full length stereo system from Rockford Fosgate provides ample sound quality. There is also a conductive phone charging pad and optional ice maker below the bolster helm chair, giving the captain several handy amenities at their fingertips.
Below deck is a high-ceiling aft stateroom with 6'7" (2.0 m) of headspace and a salon with a U-shaped dinette that converts to a berth. A fridge, microwave, and optional tv allow for multiple entertainment options out of the sun. A full galley and standing head with shower completes the amenities. The stateroom also offers individual reading lights and inclined backrests for quiet time.
Power comes from supercharged triple 350-hp or 400-hp Mercury Verados that can be tilted up to take you into shallow areas for mooring, coupled with intuitive joystick piloting for easy docking. The boat also carries an impressive top speed of 52 mph with the 400 hp engine package.
