Brunswick Corporation is set to unveil its "Boating Intelligence" initiative at the upcoming 2025 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas.
The show begins today, January 7th, and runs until Friday January 10th at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
The initiative is another addition to Brunswick's ACES (Autonomous, Connected, Electrified, and Shared) strategy, which is working to integrate AI-powered capabilities to boating across the board.
“CES is the world’s largest consumer technology event and an ideal venue for Brunswick to demonstrate how we’re transforming boating from an experiential activity to an intelligent, trusted partnership,” said Dave Foulkes, CEO of Brunswick Corporation, in a press release. “We’re excited to share the latest advancements in our technologies, products, and initiatives at CES 2025.”
At CES, the Brunswick exhibit will be typically expansive and will include both digital and physical elements. Some booth highlights include a state-of-the-art 200-degree virtual boat helm simulator that showcases an AI-powered co-captain with functionalities such as assisted navigation, safety monitoring, and autonomous maneuvers. The booth will also feature the debut of the Fliteboard eFoil immersive simulator which allows attendees to virtually ride an electric hydrofoil with a handheld controller in a lifelike environment.
Brunswick has been at the forefront of the AI revolution in boating, thanks not only to their expansive resources but also a series of dedicated investments in AI-driven and autonomous technology.
The corporation previously partnered with Apex.ai to develop autonomous boating technology. They also opened a Boating Intelligence Design Lab at the University of Illinois to develop Brunswick’s AI talent and capabilities. In late 2023, they set a new standard by successfully docking a Boston Whaler 405 Conquest using autonomous technology in a busy New York harbour.
“Boating Intelligence can be manifested through the entire Brunswick portfolio of products and services, through integrated, smart, and intelligent technologies that amplify the boating experience,” said Brenna Preisser, Brunswick Corporation Executive Vice President and President, Business Acceleration, at the Boating Intelligence Design Lab announcement in July 2024.
Other highlights at the Brunswick booth will include:
Autonomous Docking Evolution
