After a string or large model releases in the last two years, UK yacht builder Princess Yachts announced the slightly more modest F58 at the recent Palm Beach International Boat Show last week.
That being said, the 18.2 meter (58') vessel tucks in nicely between their existing F55 (17 m) and flagship F65 (20 m) in their F Series lineup. She also carries a 4.9 m beam (16'1") with a draught of 1.54 m (5'1").
The company has made a noticeable investment in new designs since being purchased by U.S. investing firm KPS Capital Partners in February 2023. KPS is based in New York with an extensive portfolio in manufacturing assets across North America and Europe. The firm currently holds roughly $14.4 billion of capital under their management.
Princess Yachts, meanwhile, is coming off a flush 2023 and an order book exceeding $1.1 billion. They also recently a new flagship for 2024 - the Princess S80. The company took over 300 orders in 2021 alone and had to expand manufacturing capability to meet demand. They currently employ over 3200 people across five different manufacturing facilities around Plymouth, England. As for the F58, the new design features a central flybridge helm with companion seats for guests or crew. The flybridge station also includes a wet bar with a BBQ and a social area for gathering while underway.
Other standout features include Princess' use of a foredeck terrace, often seen on their larger models, to create an additional social space with exemplary views.
The smooth integration between the helm station and the aft galley makes for a unified social space throughout the main deck, while steps down to the stern platform allow for a seamless transition to the exterior. The stern bathing platform also features a mini beach club-style setup with optional storage for water toys or other add-ons. A waterfront BBQ with sink is optionally available, as it a fold-down transom seat for additional R&R on the stern deck.
The interior is absolutely enhanced by panoramic windows that provide excellent views for the full 360 degrees.
Below deck are three full cabins including the master stateroom with a breakfast nook, walk-in closet, and ensuite bathroom courtesy of a full-width design. A twin cabin resides to starboard side that can also be converted to a double, and a VIP guest room in the forward area offers quality space and accommodations. An optional crew cabin in the aft is also available.
Power will come via twin MAN V8 1000 hp diesel motors to generate a top speed up to 31 knots (35 mph).
