Flux Marine has partnered with Scout Boats to release a 215 XSF center console hull with a 100 horsepower electric outboard motor.

The Rhode Island-based company is a motor and battery specialist, having reached an impressive 100 hp using a 72 kW motor capable of a top speed of 30 mph and a cruising speed of 25 mph. Due to its electric propulsion and torque, performance and acceleration are comparable to a standard 150 hp gas-powered outboard. It will carry a range up to 100 miles at lower speeds, and 30 miles of range at a cruising speed of 25 mph.

Flux Marine CEO Ben Sorkin said in a press release, "The idea behind Flux Marine is to provide a better, more efficient method of boat propulsion. Our 100 HP outboard hits the sweet spot, capable of propelling a 22 ft boat like the Scout XSF for almost any activity on the water. Our goal is to evoke excitement and innovation while ensuring users feel comfortable with what's powering their boat."

The Scout 215 XSF center console will feature DC fast charging with the capability to charge in as quickly as 1.5 hours. Flux also claims the 215 can recharge from 20 to 80% in 7.5 hours using a standard AC plug (110-, 220-, or 240- volt). The boat carries an LOA of 21'6" with an 8'6" beam.

It's another interesting move from Scout, who recently supplied their hulls to Honda Marine to create Honda's new line of Seabrook Boats. In that instance, Scout is manufacturing a 19.5 foot center console for Honda that is paired with their BF150 iST gas-powered outboards.

The new 215 XSF center console will feature integrated tech from Flux, including it's own proprietary throttle, user interface, and mobile app. The helm will also utilize a Garmin chartplotter. The digital applications will allow boat owners to access a variety of unique data for their boat including the ability to monitor their available range, speed, and maintenance data.

The boat is built by Scout Boats in Summerville, South Carolina, while the outboard and battery pack installation will take place at Flux Marine's assembly facility. The boat package includes the electric outboard, battery pack, throttle, Flux UI, and a mobile companion app.

The 215 XSF is expected to have an MSRP of $120,000 USD.
