After unveiling a new Four Winns bowrider with electric outboard power in early December, parent company Groupe Beneteau has announced an expansion of the relationship.
The all-new Four Winns H2e bowrider will be outfitted with electric outboard power courtesy of Canadian company Vision Marine Technologies. The outboard, known as the E-Motion 180e, offers 180 horsepower via two high voltage 700W battery packs and an onboard charging system. On the 20-foot H2e bowrider, the 180e motor generates a top speed of 40 mph and sufficient range for standard dayboating applications.
Now Groupe Beneteau has announced that their partnership with Vision Marine will extend across the Beneteau portfolio moving forward. Beneteau owns several prominent brands including Jeanneau, Prestige Yachts, Wellcraft, Scarab, Glastron, and Delphia.
The agreement will make the industry's current leading electric outboard available across a variety of brands, boat styles, and pricepoints.
"We are proud to enter into this strategic global supplier alliance with Groupe Beneteau. This represents an exciting milestone and inflection point for Vision Marine and its shareholders. We look forward to sharing our mutual mandates, and to assist Beneteau to expand its global carbon neutral goals via the electric transition of global waterways." said Alex Mongeon, co-founder, and CEO of Vision Marine. “We expect our order book to show continuous growth as we approach the formal introduction of the H2e, as well as other offerings by Beneteau.”
The Four Winns H2e, bowider, meanwhile, will be jointly marketed by Beneteau’s dealer network and Vision Marine. Beneteau’s dealer network includes 72 dealers in the United States alone and over 400 dealers worldwide across 5 continents.
Xavier Montagne, COO and CTO of Vision Marine added, “"We have developed a working and trusting relationship with the strategic management team of Groupe Beneteau. Our technical expertise in electrification and our experience in North American and European nautical markets are without any doubt the reason why we have been selected by Groupe Beneteau. We know being electric has been a long-standing wish and we are so proud to be the one to make it real."
Both companies have been pursuing aggressive growth over the last two years. In 2021, Beneteau began an ambitious strategy to unveil 18 new models in one year, one of which was the highly acclaimed Jeanneau DB43.
Vision Marine, meanwhile, recently set the electric outboard speed record in partnership with Jaguar Powerboats with a 109 mph run at the recent Lake of the Ozarks Shootout. They also recently released the world's first-ever 100% recyclable boat dubbed 'The Phantom,' which is set to hit the market in early 2023.
