Lund Boats has partnered with star NFL receiver Michael Pittman Jr. for a unique collaboration.
Lund, a division of the larger Brunswick Corporation, builds some of the industry's most popular fishing boats and is well-known for a diverse fleet of tournament-caliber aluminum hulls that target specific types of fish.
Pittman is a native of Southern California and played college football at USC. He is the song of NFL running back and Super Bowl champ Michael Pittman who won a Super Bowl with the Buccaneers in 2002. The younger Pittman is a standout receiver for the Indianapolis Colts who placed a franchise tag on him in March 2024 shortly before he signed a three-year, $71.5 million contract extension. Pittman Jr. is also an avid outdoorsman, having grown up fishing with his grandfather and father in his native So Cal. He also runs a popular YouTube channel with over 445k subscribers alongside his wife Kianna highlighting his many outdoor adventures off the field.
"I started fishing when I was 4 years old. My grandfather would take me and my cousin to the lake in his community (River Lakes in Bakersfield, Calif.). We would catch bass, catfish, bluegill and crappie. We also would fish the California aqueduct for stripers. Growing up we mainly targeted bass and catfish. When I was about 8, my grandfather took me to the pier in Ventura, Calif. to fish. During that trip we caught a small leopard shark and a stingray. That is when I was introduced to saltwater fishing – and got hooked," said Pittman Jr. in an interview with Lund.
"I'm excited to join the Lund Boats family and to represent a brand that shares my love for the water and outdoor adventure," said Pittman Jr. in a press release. "Since I w as four years old, fishing has always been a passion of mine, and many of my favorite childhood memories were spent on the water fishing with my grandfather. I am thrilled be part of a brand that builds boats designed for everyone from weekend warriors to pro tournament anglers.”
For Lund, Pattman's passion for adventure and the outdoors makes him the perfect ambassador for the brand. His wife, Kianna often joins him on his outdoor adventures and together, they share a love for the water with their two children, a daughter and a son.
As part of the partnership, Pittman will be featured in various Lund Boats marketing campaigns, social media promotions, and public appearances. He will also be actively sharing his own experiences throughout the year onboard his Lund 2075 Impact XS.
The company just launched the Impact XS lineup in late 2024 with five models ranging from 17'10" to 20'10". The Impact series is a hybrid fish/ski platform with a rugged aluminum hull design paired with up to 225 horsepower on the transom to add significant performance for serious anglers and adventurers.
"We are ecstatic to have Michael Pittman Jr. join the Lund team," said Jeromie Johnston, President, Lund Boats.
"His dedication to his craft, paired with his passion for the outdoors, perfectly aligns with our brand's values. Michael is not only an incredible football player but also an inspiration to those who love the water. We are confident that his partnership with Lund will resonate with our customers and help us continue to lead the way in innovation, quality, and performance."
The collaboration between Lund and Pittman kicked off the 2025 Indianapolis Boat Show with an appearance by Pittman alongside the company and its products. His next appearance is scheduled at the Bassmaster Expo in Fort Worth, Texas from 3 to 5 p.m. on Friday, March 21 at the Lund Booth (#638).
The partnership marks another connection between star athletes and the boating industry. In 2024, star NFL quarterback Kirk Cousins partnered with Manitou Pontoons to showcase his connection to boating and the outdoor lifestyle. Other professional athletes have also made marine headlines recently, including fellow NFLer om Brady and his official partnership with Wajer Yachts, tennis legend Rafael Nadal partnering with Sunreef Yachts on an eco-conscious catamaran, and NBA superstar Klay Thompson with Axopar. Several other notable athletes have also gotten involved with boating's new E1 Racing Series -- a worldwide racing tour featuring unique electric-powered catamarans -- including the aforementioned Brady and Nadal, as well as LeBron James (NBA), Didier Drogba (soccer), and Virat Kohli (Indian cricketer), among others.
