Mercury Marine has announced that their initial launch of the Avator electric outboard series is complete with 75e and 110e electric outboards shipping to customers.
The 75e and 110e, which were officially launched in June, are the latest models of Mercury’s five low-voltage Avator electric propulsion systems to be in market. Mercury’s Avator lineup now includes the 7.5e, 20e, 35e, 75e, and 110e.
“This is an exciting day for Mercury Marine as we deliver on our commitment to bringing five low-voltage electric outboards to market,” said John Buelow, Mercury Marine president. “We look forward to all our customers around the world having the opportunity to power bigger sustainable adventures on the water."
Since its launch in 2023, the Avator has won multiple design and innovation awards in both the marine and electronics industries. The Avator 20e and 35e received a 2024 CES Innovation Award in Las Vegas.
The Avator uses what Mercury Marine describes as "transverse flux motor technology" to deliver instant torque and reliable power. The 75e and 110e outboards connect to an Avator 5400 Power Center, which facilitates battery integration for connecting up to four weather-sealed and touch-safe Avator 5400Wh lithium-ion batteries for extended range and runtime. The portable 520W Avator charger will recharge two depleted 5400Wh batteries in approximately 20 hours, while the 1050W charger can cut charge time by more than 50 percent (requires an AC-compliant inlet and breaker).
The 75e generates 7500 watts at the prop shaft, which is equivalent to roughly 10 horsepower. The 110e generates 11000 watts at the prop shaft, which converts to 15 horsepower.
Both models are available with digital remote controls for boats with console steering. The 75e is also available with a multi-function tiller handle. The standard power tilt system also makes it easy to raise or lower the outboard for maximum efficiency or to operate in shallow water.
All Avator models come with a digital display that enables users to monitor speed, range in terms of both distance and time, plus battery level, and power output. There are two mounting options for the digital display on the 75e and 110e remote console configurations: flush-mount or pedestal mount. On the 75e tiller model, the display is integrated into the outboard for quick and easy viewing.
