Limestone Boats continues to push the pace with the recent launch of a new flagship model: the L-290 Dual Console.
Just last week the company announced a new CFO as part of a continuous stream of significant announcements including the launch of other new models and making major production and manufacturing acquisitions.
According to Limestone CEO Scott Hanson, “When we relaunched the Limestone® Boats brand, we had plans all along to bring out a dual console model that would promote all the highlights Limestones have been known for throughout the brand’s heritage such as big water performance, quality, functionality and family friendly features that appeal to multi-generational boaters, alongside the idea that a premier, seaworthy dual console model would further help us expand our opportunities in additional markets from the Great Lakes to the South."
Given Limestone's history with smaller sized layouts, the new L-290 DC marks a big step for the revamped Canadian outfit. The L-290 DC carries an LOA of 29'3" with a 10'8" beam. Power comes via twin 250 hp outboards as standard with an optional twin 300 hp configuration. Limestone has existing relationships with Mercury and Yamaha engines.
The L-290 DC will also include a powder coated fibreglass hardtop with dual opening vents, as well as LED spreader and courtesy lights, a fibreglass windshield frame with tempered glass, a wet bar with Corian countertop, a removable 65 quart cooler, and flexible seating arrangements for maximizing the use of space. Below deck is a quarter berth with a spacious head and privacy skylight.
“We felt it was important for the integration of a spacious head area for our multi-generational customers not only for convenience on the water but also to help them extend their time out on the water, so we engineered that space to also have a counter and sink, storage, quarter berth, LED courtesy lighting, opening privacy skylight and an electric head with inline macerator and deck pump out," added Hanson. There’s also a 30 gallon freshwater tank.”
Other notable standard features include a double wide helm seat with flip-up bolsters, portside dive door with removable telescoping ladder, integrated swim platform with telescoping ladder, anchor locker with stem mounted anchor windlass with remote helm switch, 12V and USB outlets, power assist steering, mahogany steering wheel, starboard windshield wiper with fresh water reservoir, cockpit coaming bolsters, raw water washdown and a freshwater shower, two large fish boxes totaling a combined 74 gallons, and stereo with Bluetooth and speakers.
Some attractive options for buyers include air conditioning for the helm and head area, hot water heater, underwater lights, ski pylon, removable cockpit table, refrigerator, stand-alone butane canister grill; SureShade system for aft/cockpit shading/protection, sand synthetic teak decking.
The L-290DC is available for order at all Limestone dealers and is expected to begin shipping in Q1 of 2022.
