Pershing has launched its very first GTX70 at the port of Fano in Italy. The new design is part of Pershing's 40th anniversary celebrations.
The new model was announced late last year and is the smallest model in Pershing's compact GTX series. The GTX70 now joins the GTX80 and GTX116 in the new GTX series that's designed to offer more generous living spaces.
The first to reach completion hit the water in the scenic seaport on the Adriatic coast on March 19th. The GTX70 carries an LOA of 21.88 m (71'8") with a 5.42 m beam (17'8"). The yacht is the result of a collaboration between the Ferretti Group Product Strategy Committee led by Piero Ferrari, Vallicelli Design, and the Group’s engineering department. The new hull was produced at the Ferretti Group Plug and Mould facility. The boat’s construction was completed in the new Mondolfo production area where the GTX range is built.
The interior and exterior spaces are more extensive than on other models of similar length. Pershing's aim is to increase on-board liveability and offer direct contact with the water. The GTX70 boasts two decks and a sportbridge and can accommodate up to six guests in three cabins.
The exterior hull design is slightly convex and has a stanchion-free sheer line that runs from bow to stern. It joins up with the bulwarks on either side of the cockpit, which open out to form two terraces that significantly increase the living space in the beach area. The sleek lines combined with the near vertical bow help create the classic overall Pershing shape.
At the stern, a beach area is furnished with a sunpad incorporated into the transom structure with a surface area of 23 square metres, or 245 square feet, when the side terraces are folded down. The stern swim platform also uses a 'dual linear lift,' which increases the available space by aligning the swim platform with the beach area. It can also be used to launch a PWC or tender.
The open-design cockpit is fully shaded by the sportfly and contains a C-shaped sofa and a table. Same as the Pershing GTX80, the exterior and interior lounge areas are connected via the galley, thanks in part to a pocket up-down glass panel incorporated in the galley wall. Forward of the galley is a large living space containing two L-shaped sofas facing each other. The colours used for the interiors of the first unit were been chosen to highlight the contrasts between different elements, such as the dark nubuck leather upholstery of the sofas paired with the muted tones of the nearby stairwell. The ceiling is decorated with LED lights strips to deliver diffused light across the entire deck space – a feature also found on the lower deck.
The 16 square metre (172 sq ft) sportbridge is split into three spacious areas for sunbathing, dining and the helm station. OThe first GTX70 features an innovative electric bimini top with prepreg carbon poles, available as an option, which can be used to shade the dining area and the helm.Below deck are three cabins and three en suite bathrooms, in a layout that optimizes space so guests can enjoy maximum comfort in the sleeping area too.
Power comes via triple 900 hp VOLVO PENTA D13 IPS1200 diesel engines to give the GTX70 a top speed of 35 knots and a cruising speed of 30 knots. The yacht has CE Class A certification, the safest for boats under 24 m (78 ft).
