One of luxury boating's most renowned yacht builders is adding a smaller dayboat to their portfolio.
In contrast to their typical yacht offering, the all-new Iseo Super will offer a scaled down experience from the Italian company's decadent approach.
The Iseo Super will carry an LOA of 27' (8.25 m) with an 8' (2.49 m) beam and a 3' (1 m) draught. The smallest boat in Riva's lineup prior to the Iseo platform is the Rivamare at 11.8 m (39 feet). Standard power will be a Volvo Penta D4 diesel with 300 horsepower and a DP-I sterndrive. Two gas-powered options will also be available, both V8 engines with 305 or 355 horsepower.
Top speed will be 38 knots (standard power) with a cruising speed of 33 knots and a range of 240 nautical miles at cruising speed. With the 355 hp option top speed increases to 41 knots. She will have a 330 liter (80 gal) fuel tank with an 80 liter (21 gal) freshwater tank.
According to Riva, the Iseo Super was designed to "express the refinement running through all Riva models, from the most compact runabouts to 70-metre-plus superyachts: every line and detail reflect master craftsmanship and meticulous attention to detail, from the high-gloss mahogany covering the deck and stern platform to the sophisticated new hull colour, Vulcan Grey, which joins the brand’s exclusive palette."
Like all Riva models from the last thirty years, the Iseo Super was designed by Mauro Micheli and Sergio Beretta, founders of Officina Italiana Design -- the exclusive design studio for Riva. The new model was also developed in partnership with the Strategic Product Committee chaired by Piero Ferrari and the Ferretti Group Engineering Department.
The launch of the Iseo Super comes after the success of Riva's foray into the smaller dayboat spectrum with the all-electric El Iseo in 2022. Despite being one of the earlier iterations of an all-electric dayboat to reach the market, the El Iseo packed impressive performance with a high-output motor pushing 250 kW to a max of 300 kW, or roughly 335 horsepower with a max thrust of 402 horsepower. It has a top speed of 40 knots (46 mph).
The Iseo platform was first launched by Riva in 2011.
The Iseo Super, with its Volvo Penta inboards, will offer a nearly identical horsepower range and performance figures.
The new dayboat will also the offer premium design and craftmanship expected of Riva, with a low-cut wraparound windshield, a Böning digital dashboard, two bolstered bench seats on either side of hull, and a U-shaped seating area with a switch-activated pedestal table. A bimini top can also be neatly stowed beneath the rear bench. Other standout features include a wooden foredeck and matching aft sunpad, subtle pinstriping, and tasteful chrome accents around the lights and cleats. The touchscreen displays are also designed to mimic older Riva designs from the analog era. The wood itself is high-gloss striped mahogany treated with 24 coats of varnish.
While the Iseo Super will obviously cater to superyacht owners as a tender, its capabilities and functionality as a dayboat, not to mention its reduced pricepoint from typical Riva fare, will make it an attractive option to waterfront property owners. Pricing from Riva is typically kept private, although the company has indicated the Iseo Super will come in at roughly half the pricepoint of the El Iseo electric, which is believed to retail north of the $1 million USD mark.
