Sea Ray is expanding its SDX lineup with two new models for 2025.

The SDX 250 and SDX 250 Surf will be available in sterndrive and surf configurations and will feature strong power, abundant storage, impressive seating, and premium amenities.

The move comes as the company launched the similarly sized SDX 270 designs in 2024. Sea Ray has also been systematically developing and redeveloping smaller models to add to their lineup, including the SPX 210 and SPX 210 OB in 2024, as well as the all-new SPX 190 models.

“Following the successful re-design of the SDX 270 earlier this year, we’re thrilled to launch the new SDX 250 and SDX 250 Surf,” said Keith Yunger, Sea Ray president, in a press release. “Both boats present space, storage and amenities to deliver endless adventure. Also, the SDX 250 Surf represents a brand-new 25-ft. addition to our surf lineup, complimenting the recent introduction of the SDX 270 Surf.”

The SDX 250 models will have a beam of 8′6″ in a 25-ft. vessel. The wide and open layout featured on both models has been optimized for space and comfort with premium amenities for all-day enjoyment. Features include an enhanced cockpit with a sleek curved windshield for improved visibility, plush L-shaped bench seating, adjustable seating configurations, an integrated cooler compartment and USB outlets. The oversized helm seat and port companion seat have movable backrests that convert from forward-facing to aft-facing seats. The cockpit can be further enhanced with options like a table and inductive charging stations.

The SDX 250 will be propelled by a standard 300-horsepower Mercury MerCruiser 6.2L MPI ECT engine with a Bravo Three drive, SmartCraft technology and Digital Throttle & Shift (DTS) controls.

The SDX 250 Surf will be powered by a standard 300-horsepower MerCruiser 6.2L MPI ECT engine with a forward-facing Bravo Four S drive, contra-rotating props, SmartCraft technology and DTS. The forward-facing drive sets up the boat for wakesurfing and improves maneuverability when docking or traveling at low speeds.

The SDX 250 Surf is outfitted with Sea Ray’s intuitive NextWave surf system that generates repeatable, rideable waves for wakesurfing and other thrilling watersports. The vessel’s transom is engineered to produce a clean wave with plenty of push while electric surf tabs, Active Trim and three ballast tanks featuring 1,550 lbs. of ballast control the height of the wave and produce a long or short pocket. The boat is equipped with a Sea Ray custom surf interface powered by Mercury Smart Tow presenting three pre-set modes for surfing, wakeboarding and skiing/tubing. Also, boaters can use the visual display to adjust the settings with the touch of a button to accommodate riders’ preferences and skill levels.

The electric-folding watersports tower, standard on the surf variation and optional on the sterndrive variation, provides passengers seated in the cockpit protection from the sun and inclement weather. The tower features an integrated Bimini top and tow points to pull wakesurfers or wakeboarders. For easy storage, the tower can be lowered or raised, and optional tower speakers and board racks can be added. Side tow points and surf knobs are included on the SDX 250 Surf tower providing improved line management for wakesurfers by keeping them out of the wake and away from propeller wash.

At the helm, intuitive technologies and advanced features provide effortless control for captains of all skill levels. The helm is equipped with a Digital Dash offering a standard 9″ Simrad® NSX touchscreen display (dual 9″ NSX displays are standard on the surf variation) featuring a chartplotter with preloaded charts and Mercury Marine SmartCraft Connect for simplified engine monitoring. Other highlights include Active Trim control and monitoring and an optional inductive charging station. For music on the waves, the port dash houses the Fusion RA210 stereo head unit along with a lockable glove box. Available with the Entertainment Bundle, the audio system can be upgraded to a Fusion Premier audio system with Signature Series speakers, an amplifier, subwoofer and more.

Convenient storage areas have been incorporated from bow to stern to keep items secure and out of the way. An in-floor compartment in the transom walkway is equipped with drainage to stow wet gear, and multiple storage spaces under the cockpit bench seating can be used to stash boards and bulky items.

The SDX 250 models also provide a standard starboard compartment ideal for storing life jackets, towels and larger items. To accommodate extended days on the water, the space can be upgraded with the Water System Bundle to a head with a sink and countertop. In addition, the finished portside helm compartment presents even more storage options to ensure boaters and guests have the space they need.

The generous bow showcases U-shaped lounge-style seating and an additional integrated cooler compartment to keep refreshments and snacks within reach. The bow can be upgraded with the Comfort Bundle to add a table and a filler cushion that transforms the spot into a luxe sunpad. The bow can also be enhanced with manual bow sunshade and boarding ladder options.

At the transom, the SDX 250 models are expertly outfitted to make interacting with the water seamless. For lounging or taking in the sights by the water, the convertible sunpad features a backrest that folds down to extend the area. An adjacent optional Fusion remote places stereo controls close by. For easy water access, the broad swim platform offers a concealable ladder and manual submersible step, optional on the sterndrive variation and standard on the surf variation. Plus, the transom includes a ski tow eye attachment to connect watersports riders.

Available as an upgrade to the SDX 250 Surf, boaters can select the Highline Appearance Package to complement their style. The package offers a sporty, two-toned exterior color scheme with black engine vent covers and a hull side metallic accent stripe as well as special interior upholstery stitching and SeaDek flooring pattern enhancements. Boaters can also customize their SDX 250 or SDX 250 Surf to match their preferences with an assortment of bundles and options.
