Suzuki Marine has unveiled a new 250 hp 4-stroke outboard for 2022. The DF250SS will be the largest platform in their Sport Series lineup.
The new addition comes on the heels of Suzuki's announcement of a new line of 4-stroke outboards last year.
In a company statement, Suzuki laid out the engine as being based on a standard V-6 engine block. The new motor will include a "thrust mount" system to reduce vibration, a reconfigured intake system, and will employ Suzuki's new line of Watergrip propellers. It will also be compatible with Suzuki's Precision Control (SPC) electronic shift and throttle system and can also integrate with their Digital Pro-Pedal Foot Throttle.
The new motor will cater to anglers and boaters seeking quick holeshots and strong mid-range pull. Low end torque is noticeably improved and will allow for the ability to run a larger propeller.
Other standout features include a new lower unit gear case with an asymmetrical skeg. The new design slices through the water for improved performance while also offering increased steering stability. The platform will be available in 20- and 25-inch shaft lengths.
The DF250SS will be available in matte black or white and will feature a revised cowl design with additional louvers, cover grips and SS-style graphics.
In addition to the new DF250SS model, Suzuki is also adding a new 115hp SS outboard for the upcoming year. Suzuki’s new DF115SS outboard will be ideal for small bass boats, aluminum fishing boats, flats skiffs and those that need high performance with light weight. With this latest in-line 4-cylinder model added to the line-up, Suzuki Marine now offers a range of high-performance SS Series outboards in 115 hp, 200 hp and 250 hp.
Like all Suzuki 4-stroke outboards, these new SS Series models are backed by the company’s leading 5-Year Limited Factory Warranty, providing anglers with the ultimate in confidence and security.
