The popular mobile app for boaters, Wavve Boating, has unveiled a free browser-based nautical chart viewer that allows boaters to explore new routes and plan trips from the comfort of their living room.
The new platform makes it easier than ever for boaters to explore waterways, check marine charts, and plan routes without requiring an app download or a paid subscriptions.
With this new tool, boaters can access detailed nautical charts across the United States, Canada, and Australia, with more locations coming soon.
Boaters can manually plot routes or take advantage of Wavve’s auto-routing feature to simplify trip planning. Plus, Wavve Boating members can sync planned routes directly to the mobile app if they choose for on-water navigation.
This launch comes at a crucial time for the marine industry. The National Marine Manufacturers Association (NMMA) recently reported a 9% decline in boat sales in 2024, highlighting the importance of boater experience and retention as top priorities for businesses. Other similar resources have also been discontinued by other companies, leaving boaters high and dry when it comes to setting up their next adventure.

If boaters also choose to add the Wavve Boating mobile app they'll have access to a user-friendly marine navigation app that provides customizable charts based on your vessel's draft and real time water levels. The app also allows boaters to connect with the boating community as they can see friends on the water, share their favourite locations/waypoints, discover nearby amenities on land like restaurants, marinas, and destinations, as well as discover other users' popular routes that they might like to explore themselves.
The Wavve Boating app is also integrated into select BRP Sea-Doo models.
