The compact, lightweight, and budget-friendly JetBlaster Series will be the first to integrate polypropylene composite materials.

Yamaha Motor Canada has unveiled four new JetBlaster WaveRunner models for 2025 designed for riders seeking a lightweight, agile, and compact watercraft.

The new JetBlasters will measure 3 meters (9.8 feet) in length, 1.14 meters (3.75 feet) in width, and weigh as little as 529 lbs (240 kg). They will be the most compact-sized sit-down WaveRunners available. They will fall into Yamaha's 'Rec-Lite' category.

The four new models will be the JetBlaster, JetBlaster DLX, JetBlaster LTD, and JetBlaster PRO.

Each model will feature a reinforced polypropylene deck -- a first for WaveRunners. The new material enables dynamic styling and ergonomic design that fibreglass cannot achieve in a compact watercraft.

The new JetBlasters will also feature a painted SMC hull with a glossy, showroom-quality appearance to match the increased durability. The hulls can be repaired if damaged, ensuring the maintenance of the PWC's original aesthetic. The repairability will also offer significant cost savings compared to other brands' Rec Lite models that can require a hull replacement if damaged.

The new models are powered by the 100-horsepower Yamaha TR-1 marine engine in the JetBlaster and JetBlaster DLX. The JetBlaster PRO and JetBlaster LTD will feature the 110-horsepower TR-1 HO motor. Both engines are lightweight, compact three-cylinder, four-stroke platforms. The eTR-1 engine platform comes in at 1049 cc with a 144mm jet pump and a 50L (13.2 gallon) fuel capacity.

The standard JetBlaster will represent the entry-level model with a TR-1 engine and is available only in a 2-up option. It will be for those focused more on fun and less on features.

The JetBlaster DLX will be equipped with Yamaha’s RiDE system, mirrors, more storage and a reboarding step. It will feature the TR1 engine and is available in 2-up or 3-up options.

The JetBlaster PRO will be the freestyle-focused model includes the RiDE system, a 4.3” Connext screen, custom-tuned trim with an auto trim feature, wider handlebars and foot chocks for a sportier ride. Powered by the TR-1 HO engine, it is available in 2-up or 3-up options and caters to those who seek enhanced performance and technology.

The JetBlaster LTD will be the all-inclusive design with the RiDE system, a 4.3” Connext screen, Auto Trim, the TR-1 HO engine and an accessory package. It will be available only in a 3-up option. The Limited accessory package includes a Footwell audio kit, side storage bag, stern-mounted storage, and a mooring cover.

Key Features:

• Tall, Wide Handlebars: These provide riders with leverage and control, while new performance grips reduce hand slippage and fatigue when riding all out. (Exclusive to the JetBlaster PRO)

• Foot Chocks: Strategically placed where the footwells meet the stern, these chocks provide a secure stance for standing up and effectively transfer body weight input to the hull during freestyle manoeuvres. (Exclusive to the JetBlaster PRO)

• Custom-Tuned Electric Trim: This exclusive feature allows riders to adjust the watercraft’s riding characteristics from serious to playful. It enables popping out of the water, performing spins, and other athletic manoeuvres. (Exclusive to the JetBlaster PRO)

• SMC Hull and 3-Part Polypropylene Composite Deck: A first for Yamaha WaveRunners, this combination allows for a visually appealing design, comfortable rider ergonomics, nimble handling, and renowned Yamaha durability.

Riders may be most interested in the finer points of Yamaha's RiDE technology and Connext screen, both of which offer a user-friendly experience and a host of handy features depending on your experience level and performance demands.

Yamaha’s RiDE technology – Reverse Intuitive Deceleration Electronics -- has been featured on many of the larger WaveRunner models for several years. RiDE is easily activated from any speed by grabbing the lever on the left side of the handle bar. This drops a bucket over the jet nozzle and decelerates your forward motion. Need to back the machine up or use reverse while docking? No sweat -- just grab a handful of that lever and you’re in reverse.

The Connext screen is very user-friendly, and the 4.3” in size it's easy to see at a all speeds. The home screen displays speed, RPM, trim, fuel, and voltage readings. Flip to the next screen to find trip and fuel burn info, hours, distance travelled, fuel burn, MPG, and gallons per hour. The next tab takes you to a drive control screen which allows owners to control the amount of HP available to guest riders. The factory default setting is full power and there’s a middle and low setting for less experienced riders. The Connext lock screen makes securing your PWC easy – just plug in your own secret passcode to lock out the machine.

In terms of power, the reliable TR-1 engine gets a HP bump in the LTD model to 110 HP and is rebadged as the TR-1 HO. There’s an all new jet pump throughout the JetBlaster lineup that has purpose-built for the series. Featuring a new transom plate, new impeller and impeller housing, new nozzle and new aluminum deflector and trim ring, the new design adds exceptional playfulness to the JetBlaster. The LTD model impeller design provides improved acceleration and the trim angle extends to 25.5 degrees supporting that playful feel of the JetBlaster series.

Pricing for the new models is budget-conscious and offers a great selection depending on rider needs and wants. The JetBlaster (2-up) will carry a starting MSRP of $9,999 CDN, with the JetBlaster DLX (2-up) starting at $11,999 CDN, the JetBlaster PRO (2-up) at $13,999 CDN, and the JetBlaster LTD (3-up) at $14,599 CDN.
